Junior IT Technician (Pinelands, Cape Town)
As a Junior IT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting and maintaining IDM’s IT infrastructure. This entry-level role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to build hands-on experience in troubleshooting, user support, and IT operations. As a Junior IT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting and maintaining IDM’s IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support to staff, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Monitor and maintain internal IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Work collaboratively with the IT team on improvements to internal processes and procedures.
- Manage and resolve support tickets within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Participate in IT-related projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
- Keep detailed records of IT assets, configurations, and support activities.
- Stay informed on the latest industry trends and technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience in an IT support or technician role.
- Working knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and common operating systems.
- Familiarity with helpdesk systems and remote support tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Awareness of IT security best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are advantageous.
